Future Efforts

The International Federation of the Red Cross 's "plan and budget 2010-2011 seeks 214 million Swiss francs in 2010 and 197 million francs in 2011 to fund humanitarian assistance programmes". As well as, the money given to individual appeals launched in response to emergencies that occur within the given year. For 2010 the International Federation wishes to reach at least 86 million people throughout the world, and asks for the continuation of donations of any kind so they can reach this goal. The IFRC has adopted a new Strategy 2020 which emphasizes goals, "to save lives, protect livelihoods, and strengthen recovery from disasters and crises, enable healthy and safe living, and promote social inclusion and a culture of non-violence and peace". The new strategy illustrates the total effort of the IFRC to tackle the major difficulties facing humanity in the near future. Through collected information and opinions of needs and weaknesses from the many different countries and communities the operate in, and the fundamental fights and freedoms which all people are permitted. "This strategy seeks to benefit all who look to Red Cross Red Crescent to help to build a more humane, dignified, and peaceful world."
